Mrs. Anita Clounch – Educational Administrator - 5th-6th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Clounch has been involved in Christian education since 1990 in Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. She has an education degree from the University of North Alabama. She has one grown son, Will. Will is married to Erica and they have two daughters, Cassie and Kennedy. She attends church at Grace Life Church of the Shoals. Her verse is Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Ms. Hannah Underwood - K4 Teacher
I received my Bachelor of Social Work and Minor in Parent Education degree at the University of North Alabama. Prior to UNA, I received my Associate in Arts degree in Teacher Education (Pre-Elementary) and Short Term Certificate in Child Development at Northwest Shoals Community College. My passion is to work countless hours helping children reach their goals. Regardless of race, economic status, or hygiene, every child needs a chance to thrive, learn, and grow. My relationship and love for my Savior enables me to have a work ethic that not only involves educating children, but most importantly, leading children “in the path of righteousness.”
Ms. Allison Cody – K5 Teacher
Mrs. Cody is a local girl born and raised in Killen, Alabama. She attends Church of the Highland and enjoys serving there. She has two daughters that both attend LCA, Mia and Piper. She loves animals of all kinds and owns many types. This is her first year at Legacy and is very excited to be teaching K4.
Mrs. Ginger Cole - 1st/2nd Grade Teacher
Mrs. Cole has been teaching in christian education since 1994. She is married with one daughter. She, her husband and daughter attend First Baptist Church Center Star. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NJKV is a special verse to her.
Mrs. Shannon Reynolds – 3rd/4th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Reynolds is originally from Haleyville, Alabama, where she taught elementary public education for 14 years. She is married to Greg who is a pastor in the Florence area. She has two children, Ansley and Ian, who are twins and the joy of their lives. She loves the Lord, her church, family, friends, and Legacy Christian Academy! It is her honor to embark on another year at LCA. Her life verse is Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation: Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Mrs. Shelah Baker - 7th-8th-9th grade Teacher
I graduated from MTSU in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I maintained highly qualified teaching status until it was no longer needed because I had moved from a teaching field to the nuclear energy field! I have experience teaching 2nd and 4th grades, and most recently 7-11th grades. I maintain 2 Timothy 3:16 as my motivation, “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” Not only do I utilize the Word of God in my daily teaching, it is also the basis for all classroom standards! My goal is to create an
atmosphere where children are encouraged to seek righteousness above all else.
Mrs. Melanie Lewey - Band Teacher
Mrs. Lewey has taught music since 2004 in various settings and is excited to teach music, art and band classes at Legacy Christian Academy. She is married to Daniel Lewey and they have two children, James and Rebecca. Mrs. Lewey attended North Stafford High School in Virginia before moving to Norman, Oklahoma. While at the University of Oklahoma, she earned a BS in musical art and a master's degree in history. She is passionate about both subjects and enjoys getting to share these interests with her students.
Mrs. Christa Burbank – Financial Administrator
Mrs. Christa Burbank serves as our Financial Administrator in the front office and with our teachers. She comes to LCA with a heart's desire to serve the Lord in Kingdom Education. She has one daughter and attends First Baptist Church Center Star. She has a BS degree in Marketing from the University of North Alabama. One of her favorite verse is Matthew 6:34: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
